ACE was chosen by Whiting-Turner Construction to complete this first-of-its-kind project in 2009. The Augusta Hannaford is the first LEED Platinum Certified supermarket in the United States. According to the Green Building and LEED Project Manager, Fore Solutions, the 50,000 square foot building tests "new innovations that lower energy usage, waste and water consumption. The project includes green design features including daylighting, solar photovoltaic panels, geothermal heating and cooling, high efficiency refrigeration, energy efficient lighting and an advanced recycling program." ACE provided the low to zero VOC coatings on the project to meet the LEED Platinum standards while accumulating over 1,500 safe hours worked.
